Sustainability – Green Pages
Provost’s Welcome
I’m proud of Trinity’s focus on sustainability, particularly because it’s driven by both staff and students and it goes across the university – from research and education programmes to practical campus initiatives
- Fossil Free TCD In November 2015, Trinity became the first university on the island of Ireland to divest its oil, coal and gas investmenets. Trinitys decision to divest came in response to an impressive 15 month student campaign called ‘Fossil Free TCD’.
- Sustainability Guides Students, staff and residents can contribute to our energy, water conservation and waste minimisation goals. We have created a number of guides to share helpful information about how you can reduce your environmental footprint and how you can get involved with various sustainability groups on campus.
- Green Week Trinity holds an annual ‘Green Week’ with a multitude of activities, talks and workshops to inform the campus community about the climate and biodiversity crisis and to stimulate collective action. Many student societies such as EnviroSoc, the Botanical Soc and the Phil take part in the organisation of the week’s activities.
